Topics include:  1) An introduction to the National Guard; 2) Writing job postings to attract veterans; 3) Interpreting military candidate experience and training accurately; 4) Conducting the most productive interviews; 5) Gaining the most from the American Jobs for America’s Heroes campaign and military employment counselors; and, 6) Avoiding mistakes that cause veterans to turn down your offer.


Stacy Bayton and Erin Voirol leaders of Corporate America Supports You (CASY) and the Military Spouse Corporate Career Network (MSCCN), lead teams that placed more than 5,000 veterans and Guard members with employers in 2014. MSCCN and CASY are nonprofit organizations that have been nationally recognized for their proficiency and success in working with all military branches and employers all over the U.S. 


Brigadier General (ret) Marianne Watson served as the Director of Manpower and Personnel, (J-1), the chief human resources officer of the National Guard at the National Guard Bureau in Arlington, Virginia. General Watson served as the Chief, Army National Guard Personnel Division before deploying to Bagram, Afghanistan as the Chief, National Guard Affairs. Upon returning she served as the Army National Guard Director of Personnel (G1) working directly with state Guard commands on HR policy and programs.
