JAMA
is a non-profit trade association, founded in 1937, serving
manufacturers across south-central Michigan.
JAMA's Academy
for Manufacturing Careers (AMC) is a US-DOL certified
Registered Apprenticeship Program, a State of Michigan
Licensed Proprietary School, and a Michigan Regional Skills
Alliance.
The program delivers
industry-developed advanced manufacturing adult training and
hands-on youth summer and after-school educational programs
such as Engineering is Elementary (K-3rd grade), I
Can Make It Camp (4th-6th grade), Machining U
(7th-8th grade) and Hot Rod U (high school).
For
the last five years, JAMA has worked with local JTV to
broadcast a show titled “Made in Jackson” that has now
expanded to multiple counties and is titled “Global Great
Lakes." Currently, JAMA is launching Dream It! Do It!
Michigan, a statewide manufacturing image campaign being
run in partnership with the National Association of
Manufacturers and manufacturing support groups across the
state.
